Comparison between Apple and Microsoft.

Apple and Microsoft are at the forefront of the computer industry. They are the main companies that make computer software and other products. It is not very clear which company is ahead of the other because they are very close competitors. To try to illustrate which is in the front, I will compare their main products:

Imac In the computer side, it can be seen that Apple puts a lot of effort in developing the iMac. It is very good in performance and is less affected by viruses.	PC It is relatively easy to hack computers operating on windows operating system. They are also affected by viruses frequently and crash often.
ipod The ipod is the most popular mp3 player in the market today. It is sleek and very easy to use.	Zune The mp3 player from Microsoft, though good, does not match up with the ipod. It is bigger and less visually appealing.
Leopard The Leopard is the new operating system from Apple. It was made very creatively and it is easy to use. You don’t have to be an expert to use it.	Windows Vista Vista is by far the best operating system from windows so far. It was made to make the PC look like the Mac systems.
Software. Software from Apple is not very dominant in the market now. Microsoft makes software to run in Macintosh computers.	Software Microsoft office is the most widely used office productivity software today. It is very popular and that makes a great contribution to Microsoft.

At the moment, Microsoft is leading apple. But it can be seen that apple is closing in fast. Apple has the iPhone and iTV for which Microsoft does not have a competing product. The iPhone is very popular and is probably generating a lot of revenue for apple. When we compare customer satisfaction, most people are more satisfied with apple products compared to those from Microsoft.

The domination of Microsoft is because it is using its domination to their advantage. One has to have internet explorer in their Pc to be able to download products from microsoft.com. Also PC’s come preinstalled with windows software. Considering that most of the computers in the world are PC’s, it is not very difficult for Microsoft to dominate the market.
